Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising all Resident Experience and Memory Support Directors, coordinating all lifestyle/leisure and memory support services provided to residents. Promotion of programs, trainings, and events to enrich the life of each resident.

Essential Functions:

  1. Trains and oversees the national Community Resident Experience and Memory Support program. Working with Community Staff to perform thorough lifestyle/leisure and memory assessments on all new residents upon admission to the community.
  2. Set the standards for Resident Experience (RE) and Memory Support (MS) resident programs to ensure that RE and MS programming platforms are not only effective and current but differentiate Distinctive Living Communities from our competition within the industry. This includes life experience and memory support and encompasses physical fitness, artistic expression, lifestyle & leisure, continuing education, community, connections and spiritual support components including physical activity, intellectual stimulation, emotional support, spiritual experience, social support, and vocational activity.
  3. Continuously support and encourage team members, residents, and family members the RE and MS philosophy regarding the rationale for and benefits of resident engagement.
  4. Ensure that National Community Lifestyle Specialists and community RED and MSD are appropriately selected, trained, mentored and supported.
  5. Design, plan and implement RE and MS standards, policies and programs that positively impact the delivery of service to our residents.
  6. Solicit resident, family and employee feedback with regard to RE and MS standards, practices and process.
  7. Serve as Support Center resource for all RE and MS related initiatives.
  8. Creates and delivers on-going RE and MS training to community staff related to standards, policies and programs and once implemented are executed effectively and consistently.
  9. Supports assigned communities with screening, training, coaching, of RED and MSD employees within their community.
  10. Encourages open communication in order to resolve issues and updates the involved parties on the status of their issues. Informs the managing company of complaints as required in policy.
  11. Responsible for maintaining positive relations with the community, the community at large, and all visitors, guests, and residents.
  12. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have prior experience supporting the Resident Experience program in multiple communities across multiple states
  • Associate or Bachelors Degree strongly preferred in business or a field related to the position.
  • Must have proven management experience and ability to manage staff.
  • Prior National and/or regional level experience within senior living and multi-site management
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in gerontology, recreational therapy, healthcare, senior living or dementia care preferred.
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner or equivalent preferred
  • Preferred candidates will either live in the state of New Jersey or Florida or live near a major airport on the east coast.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal and mediation skills, ability to evaluate workers' performance, strong working knowledge of employment laws and company regulations.
  • Demonstrates leadership through planning, directing, communicating, and coaching.
  • Self-motivated and has the ability to work independently and make decisions. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Professional office environment.
  • Uses PC, telephones, word processing and other standard office equipment.
  • Travel via air and ground transportation are required approximately 75% of the workdays.
  • Responsible for training and support in RE and MS as determined by input from Regional management team and personal observations.
