Contra Costa County Auditor-Controller’s office is seeking qualified individuals to fill one vacancy in the Payroll Systems Administrator classification.
 
The Payroll Systems Administrator performs the technical system processing of payroll, timekeeping, and system applications. The ideal candidate will be able to complete work timely and accurately within rigid deadlines and collaborate with their team and management to provide the highest quality of service. Successful candidates should possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standards relating to payroll services.

What you will typically be responsible for:

  • Maintaining Payroll System tables including Retirement, Special Accumulators, Department Earnings and Earning Programs, and Deductions
  • Supervising professional accounting, clerical, and paraprofessional payroll staff
  • Working with information technology, payroll, and human resources staff and outside consultants
  • Documenting payroll and timekeeping system processes and procedures
  • Developing training materials and conducting training courses and workshops on the Payroll System and all related payroll processes and procedures
