Vice President, Total Rewards
Juno has been retained by Asplundh to find their Vice President of Total Rewards. This is an exciting opportunity to create a total rewards philosophy and spearhead all total rewards strategy for the organization.

Vice President, Total Rewards - Reporting to the CHRO

Job Summary:
The Vice President of Total Rewards will be a critical member of the HR Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, you will take full ownership of Asplundh's total rewards program, including compensation, benefits, and recognition initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing total rewards strategies that align with our business goals and engage and retain top talent.
As the VP of Total Rewards, you will lead the design and administration of compensation programs, ensuring that they are competitive and equitable across the organization. You will oversee the design and delivery of benefits programs, ensuring that they provide meaningful coverage and are cost-effective. You will also manage the budget for total rewards programs and ensure that they are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership skills. You will collaborate with other leaders within the organization to develop and implement innovative total rewards strategies that support our business objectives. You will also communicate these programs to employees, ensuring that they understand the value of their compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.
As the VP of Total Rewards, you will stay up to date on trends and best practices in total rewards and ensure that Asplundh's programs remain competitive and relevant. You will be a valued member of the HR Leadership Team, contributing to the success of our organization through your mastery of total rewards.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Strategize, plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the benefits and compensation functions and associated team.
  • Support and advise the CHRO as a participant in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as an HR technical expert with a focus on purposeful and business need impacts to HR programs, plans, policies, and practices.
  • Developing and implementing a total rewards strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Leading the design and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, and equity programs.
  • Overseeing the design and delivery of benefits programs, including health and wellness, retirement, and work-life balance initiatives.
  • Managing the budget for total rewards programs and ensuring their cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing compensation and benefits.
  • Communicating total rewards programs to employees and providing education and training as needed.
  • Staying up to date with trends and best practices in total rewards and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct analysis on internal and external compensation/pay statistics. Based on the information collected, recommend, develop, and implement an appropriate employee compensation structure, including configuring pay grades and bonus structure.
  • Lead job analysis and evaluation of hourly, salary and management positions (including appropriate title, salary grade, pay and incentive level, job code, EEO and FLSA classification, etc.); audit evaluation of positions and application of existing positions.
  • Provide consultative expertise to HR Business Partners and business leadership regarding compensation programs and practices.
  • Partner with team in the collection and benchmarking for competitive salary and benefit information to determine company's market relationship using automated compensation pricing tools; participate in compensation studies, market surveys, data reporting, and related activities as needed.
  • Leads health & welfare plan processes, assists in eliminating inefficiencies, assuring maximum utilization of HRIS system and documentation of all processes to help ensure efficient and proper administration of programs.
  • Ensure all plan documentation is current and compliant with the US regulations.
  • Lead counsel to HRBPs and management regarding compensation actions for employees including annual merit cycle.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  • Partners with, influences, and acts as an expert resource to advise HR Business Partners to ensure the business is receiving optimal service and value-added programs that are aligned with HR strategy. Provide input to HR business strategies, HR technology, process optimization, spending, and other departmental strategic decisions.
  • Provide overall process and vendor governance and assure that standards and practices align to the intended functional design. Provide strategic oversight to audit processes as necessary to support compliance.
  • Provide technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resources discipline. Act as the final escalation point (other than the CHRO) for issues within the defined purview.
  • Manage the annual, multi-year budget initiatives, and other financial measures of the Human Resources department(s) under purview.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Management, Organization Development; MBA/MS/MA strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of compensation and benefit and wellness experience required.
  • Strategic HR Business Partner background.
  • Strong Merger and Acquisition experience.
  • Highly analytical in nature and an aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent team building and leadership skills with a focus on continual development, performance, accountability, and self-motivation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact upward and cross-functionally.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and maturity in handling confidential information.
  • Expects to always project a positive and professional demeanor to employees, while also maintaining a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Ability to work seamlessly across cultures and build relationships in an evolving and fast-growing organization.
  • Core knowledge of HR principles, theories and concepts and all related local and federal laws and regulations
  • Exceptional customer service disposition, enabling ability to effectively coach and provide value-add consultative services.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong results/goal orientation.
  • Strong proficiency/experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
