Position Summary:

The role of the Plant Project Manager is to ensure that outside plant projects run efficiently, timely and within budget. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of multiple outside plant construction projects from the design concept through project delivery while promoting Sonic's core values of outstanding customer service, quality, security and integrity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Plant Project Manager is a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position.

Travel:
Travel is expected for this position. A valid California Driver’s License and Clean DMV is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Plant Project Manager directly supervises, monitors, and schedules Contractors and in-house Construction Crews and provides regular feedback to the PMO Manager.

  • Telecommunications industry experience
  • Excellent Communication
  • Customer/public interactions and relations/problem solving
  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Communicating with executives or department managers to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Materials takeoff/orders
  • Scheduling projects, handle entire lifecycle from Engineering to Closeout.
  • Establishing project budgets
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
  • Coordinate with other Project Managers and team to manage resources across multiple projects
  • Apply for and maintain permits
  • Cost control
  • Strong MS Project, GIS, and Accounting Software/ERP software skills required

Compensation & Benefits:

$75-$95k annually DOE
