Bookkeeper / Administrator

Location: North Houston, TX 77032

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $28.00 an hour, DOE, + Discretionary Bonus

Status: Full-Time (Mon – Fri / 8AM - 5PM)

Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/ Administrator. This role will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, and providing support to the team, handling the accounting tasks of the company, and acting as an overall coordinator of the company affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, accounting, general office management, and customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of each department.
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing business affairs.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and exercise individual initiative.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including journal entries, general ledger
  • reconciliation, and account reconciliation
  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments
  • Assist with budgeting and financial planning
  • Coordinate and oversee office administrative tasks, such as managing calendars,
  • scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence
  • Employee onboarding offboarding
  • Workers’ comp
  • Maintain personnel files
  • Assist in company insurance renewals and property taxes.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as needed
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files and records
  • Provide administrative support to the team as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required
  • 4-6 years of bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial report writing, accounting, and general office management
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • QuickBooks, Salesforce, SOS inventory experience
  • Experience with budgeting is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Previous experience in public accounting and office management a plus
