TITLE: Vice President - Agency Manager

LOCATION: Headquarters

REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President - Chief Banking Officer

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt

PAY GRADE: EX70 ($85,191 - 141,971 annually)

AVAILABILITY: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Summary:

This position will work in coordination with both the Insurance team and Chief Banking Officer to build the success of Pioneer Bank's Insurance division. The VP - Agency Manager will be responsible for managing the agency, managing agents/producers, training and marketing both to existing clients and prospects. In addition, the VP - Agency Manager will be passionate about educating themselves and their teams on business strategies, as well as building and executing repeatable policies and procedures. The VP - Agency Manager will also serve as a brand ambassador for Pioneer Bank.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Build, enhance and create a strong, positive image of Anchor Agency as the insurance/employee benefits division of Pioneer.
  2. Create, initiate and lead activities that attract insurance/employee benefits opportunities for Anchor Agency.
  3. Cultivate opportunities for the expansion of the Insured Division via agency acquisition.
  4. Initiate and negotiate contracts with current and new insurance carriers to ensure continued access to competitive markets.
  5. Develop communication strategies and materials to support new programs, processes and products.
  6. Collaborate with key stakeholders including marketing, legal, accounting, claims, operations, 3rd parties and clients.
  7. Acquire understanding of clients' insurance objectives and critically analyze and plan potential new programs.
  8. Support the sales team with process/product questions
  9. Ensure all client requirements are met and kept up to date.
  10. Recruit Agents and Licensed Sales Producers.
  11. Assist in building and executing lead strategy for all lines of insurance/employee benefits.
  12. Assist in building training program for current and new agents.
  13. Ensure teams are meeting or exceeding sales and quality performance goals through the use of established metrics
  14. Partner with leadership to determine growth strategies.


Education & Experience:
  1. Bachelors' Degree in business or related field required.
  2. NYS Brokers License required.
  3. Licensed in Property & Casualty preferred.
  4. 5 years' experience leading teams of sales agents towards meeting and exceeding their sales goals.
  5. 5 years of experience managing an insurance agency preferred.
  6. Commercial Insurance/Employee Benefits sales experience a plus
