IT Security Operations Analyst II

This position is a remote/hybrid. Candidates need to have the ability to travel to corporate HQ and our satellite offices on occasion.

General Summary: The IT Security Operations Analyst II position focuses on driving the cyber security goals for Harbor. You will assist in daily monitoring, implementing cyber security policies, and acting as a high-level knowledge source for cyber security for the Harbor team.

In addition to the job functions that IT Security Operations Analyst I provide, you will assist in creating projects, assigning tickets and project tasks, ensuring project milestones are met, and training Harbor staff on security guidelines and solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide cyber security training for Harbor team members on new technologies and security related topics
• Communicate with leadership members and the Project Management Office on project updates, ensure that tasks are being completed on time, and project milestones are being met
• Assist in identifying new 3rd party experts to assist Harbor meet its security goals
• Provide advanced cyber security knowledge, risk identification, implementation of necessary information security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines, in conjunction with IT leaderships goals and guidelines
• Work with technical teams and individuals to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through county workstations, servers, and cloud systems
• Train and manage IDS/IPS Security appliances and manage alerts protecting both corporate and BYOD environments
• Provide high level knowledge, management skills, and training of enterprise firewall policies, IPS, AV, and other NGFW features
• Design and implement cybersecurity and compliance monitoring technologies, processes, practices, policies, contracts, and 3rd party services to protect business systems and data assets from service interruptions, damage, attack, and unauthorized access
• Maintain tickets about monitoring data, documentation of actions taken and testing results
• Design and maintain documentation, knowledge, and skills around proactive and adaptive approaches to information security threats
• Perform risk assessments; develop response plans and mitigation plans in the event of a security breach
• Provide security review and subject matter expertise to ensure information security architecture and design considerations in major IT projects and programs
• Participate in the evaluation of major hardware, middleware, application, and service selections
• Document and report on security incidents and responses to management
• Design and Conduct Disaster Recovery planning and testing
• Design and implement procedures for monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions
• Perform duties and back fill for the Security Operations I position as needed
• Any other responsibilities identified by management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced understanding of Cyber Security and a desire to continue expanding your knowledge and skills
• Strong understanding of networking, server operation systems, and storage environments
• Strong understanding of regular expressions and database queries for searching security logs
• Understanding of project management types such as Agile
• Ability to serve as an Incident commander in the event of a security breach
• Work closely as a team member and independently as needed with limited guidance and support
• Strong communication skills, writing reports and documentation
• High level technical end user support and training

Desired Knowledge and Skills

• Agile Development experience is a plus

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in Cyber Security, or related field or relevant work experience
• Security+ Required
• GSEC is required
• Associate of ISC or CISSP is a plus
• CISA is a plus
• Network+ is a plus
• Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals is a plus
• Microsoft Certified: Information protection administrator associate is a plus
