Position Summary: The Project Manager is accountable for the end-to-end execution of assigned capital projects, from concept development through mechanical completion and handover to site operations and startup. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory expectations. The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams and external partners (EPCM, OEMs, contractors) to define scope, manage execution, control risks, and maintain alignment between project objectives and operational outcomes. Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Own development and execution of the integrated project plan, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource strategy. Manage project execution from design through installation and mechanical completion. Ensure project milestones are achieved while maintaining safety, quality, and cost controls. Drive disciplined change control for scope, budget, and schedule adjustments. Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead matrixed teams across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Tech Ops, Finance, Procurement, and EHS. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for project deliverables. Partner closely with Site Leadership to ensure alignment between project execution and operational realities. Coordinate with the Startup Manager to ensure a clean transition from project execution into commissioning, CQV, and startup. External Partner Management: Lead coordination with EPCM firms, OEMs, integrators, and contractors. Manage contracts, performance, deliverables, and escalation with external partners. Ensure alignment between OEM design intent, EPCM deliverables, and site requirements. Drive vendor accountability for schedule, technical performance, and documentation quality. Schedule, Cost & Risk Management: Develop and maintain the project master schedule and key milestone tracking. Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and capitalization requirements. Identify, quantify, and actively manage project risks and mitigation plans. Escalate critical risks and decision points to executive and site leadership in a timely manner. Quality, Compliance & Governance: Ensure projects meet applicable GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements. Oversee project documentation, drawing control, and turnover packages. Support readiness for CQV and startup by ensuring project deliverables are complete, accurate, and timely. Provide regular, fact-based reporting to leadership on project health, risks, and decisions. Handover & Close-Out: Ensure orderly handover of systems, documentation, and assets to Operations and the Startup Manager. Confirm completion of punch lists, system turnover, and contractor closeout. Capture lessons learned and incorporate them into future project execution standards. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). Certification: Project Management Certification is preferred Experience: 8+ years of experience managing large, complex capital projects in manufacturing or regulated environments. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong understanding of capital project delivery models, executing projects over $100M+, EPCM execution, and contractor management. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations. Experience working in GMP or similarly regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Strong project discipline with a pragmatic execution mindset Exceptional stakeholder and vendor management skills Clear communicator able to influence at all organizational levels Comfortable making decisions amid ambiguity and competing priorities Strong partner to site leadership and startup teams Physical Requirements: General office environment. Ability to move about the office, construction, and production areas. Environment: Exposure to disagreeable elements is limited. Safety: The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering their own or others' health or safety. Supervisory Responsibility: No direct reports, but oversees the project work of Engineering Managers and external partners like general contractors and design firms.
