Job description
Job Summary
Vertiv is seeking a driven and high-performing Manager of Vertiv Operating System (VOS) to support the deployment and advancement of Lean transformation across our global enterprise. This role will focus on enabling our Global Service Delivery team to embed Lean thinking, elevate performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
As a key member of the VOS team, this individual will act as a strategic business partner and coach, empowering teams through practical tools, clear standards, and cultural change. This position requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record in Lean deployment and a strong understanding of how to bring continuous improvement to life within complex, cross-functional environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a deployment advisor for VOS initiatives across enabling functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide Lean strategy.
- Facilitate workshops, kaizen events, and structured problem-solving to drive measurable improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and experience.
- Coach function and business leaders on Lean tools, maturity assessments, standard work, visual management, and process design.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration through swimlane mapping, value stream diagnostics, and best-practice sharing across departments.
- Develop and support governance mechanisms, including VOS maturity tracking, KPI alignment, and leadership engagement routines.
- Model a culture of ownership and empowerment by helping teams internalize Lean mindsets and behaviors that sustain progress over time.
- Support deployment across both cultural and tactical dimensions - from team-level coaching to enterprise system-level change.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Business, Operations, or Engineering preferred.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience (required); Master Black Belt or equivalent coaching credentials a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience leading Lean or operational excellence efforts in global, matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated success deploying Lean methodologies in corporate or back-office environments (e.g., Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Marketing).
- Exceptional coaching, facilitation, and communication skills - with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels.
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect continuous improvement to functional and enterprise value.
- Proven ability to thrive in dynamic environments, independently manage multiple priorities, and deliver tangible outcomes.
- Experience with VSM, maturity models, and cultural change management frameworks preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including occasional global travel as needed.
