Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering to begin Fall 2026.

This is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering (9 Month Appointment; non-tenure track). Primary duties will include teaching courses such as Microprocessor Systems, Robotics & Automation, Machine Learning, Fundamentals of A.I., Networks & Data Communication, Digital Logic Design, as well as introductory computer programming courses. Successful candidates must also demonstrate the ability to mentor and advise students engaged in Senior Design projects and undergraduate research activities. Duties also include participating in ABET accreditation activities such as assessment and evaluation of student outcomes and other service activities as needed by the School of Engineering. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
The School of Engineering, with thriving enrollment, has ABET-accredited programs in Systems, Computer, and Petroleum Engineering. The School will also launch a new undergraduate program in Computer Science and a transdisciplinary Master of Science in Systems Engineering in Fall 2026.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely-related discipline. Applicants close to finishing a Ph.D. will be considered if their degree completion is prior to the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. We strongly encourage candidates with research experience in one or more of the listed areas and the credentials required to teach in those areas.

Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
