Assistant Professor: Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. A candidate shall be expected to demonstrate successful experience pertinent to the position they are being recommended and have demonstrated qualities relevant to the goals of the academic unit in which they will be employed.
Associate Professor: Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess professional qualifications above those equivalent to the highest degree relevant to their field. They are expected to have produced creative work, professional writing, or research and successful teaching or professional experience. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.
Full Professor: Candidates for this faculty rank shall be qualified for the rank of associate professor and, in addition, be a recognized national or international authority or an outstanding teacher in their field or specialization. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the associate professor level.
Job Description:
The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, College of Pharmacy (https://ptr.pharmacy.ufl.edu/), University of Florida, invites applications for a tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are seeking promising or accomplished scientists with expertise in clinical and translational research, with areas of interest including precision medicine, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that are consistent with appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level are expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent and federally-funded research program. All faculty in the department contribute to our professional and graduate education programs.
The position may be based in the Gainesville or Lake Nona Campus. Faculty hires will also participate in the professional and graduate instructional efforts of the College.
Areas of specialization within pharmacotherapy should complement the interests of the department and the Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine https://precisionmedicine.ufhealth.org/research/center-for-pharmacogenomics-and-precision-medicine/.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Pharm.D.) with formal postdoctoral research training. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. Other requirements include a strong potential for or demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding and a record of accomplishments in research.
Preferred:
Previous teaching experience and experience in mentoring students are preferred. Extramurally-funded research program and proven track record of publication will be considered important attributes of successful candidates. Soft skills as well as clear written and verbal communication are essential to team-based research and communication between trainees, faculty, and external collaborators. An understanding of patient care will further be helpful for training and mentoring PharmD students, PhD students, and post-doctoral research associates.
