Are you an experienced Medical Assistant with a strong orthopedic background and excellent clinical judgment? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where patient communication and critical thinking matter?
We are seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Medical Assistant - Triage Operator to serve as the first clinical point of contact for our patients. This role is essential in ensuring safe, timely, and efficient management of musculoskeletal concerns while supporting providers and enhancing patient access to care.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our orthopedic care team, you will:
- Perform structured telephone and electronic triage for orthopedic patients
- Assess acute injuries, post-operative concerns, pain escalations, and neurologic symptoms
- Identify red flags and escalate appropriately to the RN or provider
- Provide standardized post-operative guidance and patient education
- Coordinate urgent appointments, imaging, and referrals
- Document all interactions accurately in the EMR
- Support efficient workflow and reduce unnecessary provider interruptions
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3-5 years of orthopedic or musculoskeletal clinical experience
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Comfort working in a high-volume clinical environment
- Ability to apply clinical protocols with sound judgment
Preferred:
- Prior triage or call center experience
- Post-operative orthopedic care experience
- Knowledge of orthopedic terminology and imaging
