Patient Registrar – Day Shift

Location: PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital – Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
 

About the Role

Seeking a Patient Registration Representative I to join our admitting team. This role ensures patients have smooth access to care by handling registration, insurance verification, and financial responsibility discussions in a professional and compassionate manner.

Responsibilities
  • Register and pre-register patients for outpatient and inpatient services

  • Verify insurance coverage, collect copays/coinsurance, and process payments

  • Maintain accurate patient information in hospital systems

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, physicians, and staff

  • Support patient financial eligibility screenings when needed

Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a medical office, hospital, or billing environment

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required; continuing education preferred

  • Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology strongly preferred

  • Strong computer and typing skills (45+ WPM)

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Bilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) a plus

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
