Job description
Fast-paced podiatry practice seeking Medical Assistant to join our team.
We are seeking to hire a full-time medical assistant to travel between our Kenosha and Racine offices with varying hours Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must be reliable, personable, energetic, detail-oriented, and display a professional demeanor and appearance. Must have experience as a medical assistant in the healthcare field, podiatry experience preferred. Please submit cover letter, resume, and references. Applications will be reviewed as received.
Job Duties:
Patient Care
- Bring patients to examination rooms and document vital signs and other pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaints, allergies, medical history and medications)
- Counsel patients by communicating physician's orders and instructions
- Collect and process pathology specimens properly
- Perform x-rays
- Assist physician with minor procedures
- Scan and file paperwork
- Clean, stock and organize treatment rooms
- Track inventory of medical supplies
- Complete other necessary tasks as assigned.
Clerical Support
- Courteously answer telephones; answer patient questions; schedule patient appointments through the use of a computerized EHR system.
- Assist with insurance verification and prior authorizations
- Provide receptionist support
- Perform other clerical duties as necessary
Medical Assistant Skills and Qualification Requirements:
- Previous experience with patient care is mandatory
- Basic computer knowledge is required
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required, podiatry-focused is preferred
- Ability to multitask is essential
- Awareness of HIPAA laws and aptitude to comply with patient confidentiality standards is required
- Exceptional communication, professionalism, customer service, and phone etiquette skills required
- Must be extremely reliable, willing to travel between offices, and work well with a team
Job Type: Full-time, 32-40 hours/week
- Salary: Based on experience
- No healthcare insurance benefits are provided. 401(k) with employer contribution is offered. Vacation and personal paid time off benefits are provided after 90 days of employment. 90-day probationary period will be required.
