Position Summary:

Provide work direction and supervision to maintenance employees to support the safe, effective, and timely delivery of maintenance services in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. Serve as a technical resource and first point of escalation for maintenance personnel while supporting plant operations and equipment reliability. Coordinate and support preventative, predictive, and demand maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend asset life. Coach, mentor, and develop team members by providing ongoing training, performance feedback, and leadership support.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and assign daily jobs and work orders and provide clear direction to maintenance employees. Oversee pass down issues. Monitor activities to ensure an efficient and safe maintenance operation
  • Implement, support, and continuously improve predictive and preventative maintenance programs by developing asset maintenance strategies, completing daily maintenance schedules, monitoring and adjusting program performance, and maintaining accurate CMMS and database records to minimize downtime and control maintenance costs
  • Use systems (e.g., SAP) to support task planning with time required, parts required, and job descriptions to maximize maintenance activities during normal plant operation, in time made available during washes, planned downtime, and periodic maintenance shutdowns. Use project management charts detailing activities of planned downtime
  • Support the Maintenance Manager by monitoring and completing demand and preventative maintenance work orders within established timelines, assisting with daytoday maintenance issues and repairs, and diagnosing electrical (up to 480 VAC) and mechanical equipment failures to restore operational performance
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of all plant equipment while supporting new equipment line setups, equipment changeovers, and assisting the Maintenance Manager with capital and special projects
  • Coordinate spare parts and equipment availability by requesting parts for preventative and demand maintenance activities and working with inventory or supply personnel
  • Remain current with emerging industry regulations and codes related to mechanical and electrical system design and operation while applying strong knowledge of motor control circuits, automated valves, and process control systems
  • Train, mentor, and coach employees on existing and new equipment, work practices, and maintenance procedures while performing supervisory responsibilities including administering promotions and transfers, reviewing and editing timekeeping, and completing performance evaluations
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all company regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
