Title: Benefits Systems Specialist

FLSA Status: Full Time Employee/Exempt

Reports to: Benefits Operations Manager

Purpose: Provide exceptional service while delivering technical solutions, consultation, and related training & support to our clients and internal partners. Must have Prism experience at an advanced level.

The Benefits Systems Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of employee benefit programs within the PrismHR platform. This role serves a key function in coordination between insurance carriers, brokers, and employees to ensure accurate benefits processing, compliance, reporting, and system functionality.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in benefits administration, HRIS systems, payroll integration, and client or employee support, with direct experience using PrismHR.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

PrismHR System Administration

  • Configure and maintain benefit plans and system settings within PrismHR
  • Monitor and troubleshoot carrier feeds, EDI transmissions, and integration issues
  • Support payroll-to-benefit synchronization and deduction accuracy
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc reporting
  • Test system updates, enhancements, and configuration changes

Compliance & Reporting

  • Assist with ACA administration and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate COBRA and state continuation processes
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state benefit regulations
  • Support audits related to benefits and employee records
  • Ensure documentation and records are maintained according to company policies

Other Duties

  • Maintain, enhance, and broaden knowledge and skills of software applications and industry practices
  • Manage internal systems' checklists and documentation
  • Asisst with client and employee questions received through meetings, emails, or phone calls in regards to benefit systems applications

Qualifications Required

  • 2+ years of benefits administration, HRIS, payroll, or related HR experience
  • Experience working with employee benefit programs and deductions
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Direct experience with PrismHR

Preferred

  • Experience within a PEO, staffing, or HR outsourcing environment
  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and payroll processes
  • Experience with carrier feeds and EDI integrations
