Medical Assistant/Receptionist - Outpatient

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System is looking for a full time Medical Assistant/Receptionist in our Outpatient Department. Hours: Monday-Wednesday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Tuesday-Thursday 12:00pm - 8:30pm One Saturday per month - 4 Hours

Administrative Duties

Manage the day-to-day clinical operations and coordinate the outpatient clinical flow. Supervise and provide leadership to all front desk staff. Serves as a trainer and role model for clinical skills. Manage all the outpatient Mental Health programs schedules and patient's appointments. Responsible to monitor and track appropriate business hours. Responsible for all necessary prior-authorizations including but not limited to medications and DCFS. Managing Medical Records. Transmitting prescription refill request. Liaison between pharmacies and providers: responsible to notify providers for any refill meds. Maintaining Inventory of medical and office supplies. Billing and Insurance.

Clinical Duties

Triage of in-person patients with vital signs, chief complaints and active medication list. Measuring vital signs: blood pressure, heart rate, high and weight Proficiency in Phlebotomist. Proficiency in performing EKG. Proficiency in preparing and delivering Intramuscular and/or Subcutaneous injections under the supervision of a licensed provider. Manage outpatient, IOP and PHP labs and labs reports under the supervision of a licensed provider. Knowledge of billing and coding.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bilingual in Spanish-English and minimum of 2 years of experience practicing as MA with Phlebotomy Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Diplomacy and discretion are essential, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Professional demeanor and appearance required. Active Medical Assistant License in the State of Illinois REQUIRED.
