Job description

Position Overview:

StepStone is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive analyst to support the development and improvement of workflows, systems, and processes that enable efficient execution of the DATS Program Management Office (PMO). This role will focus on maintaining data integrity across systems, supporting structured workflow execution, and assisting in the implementation of process improvements and lightweight automation. The analyst will work closely with PMO leadership and technical specialists to translate operational needs into scalable, repeatable workflows. The role operates within a developing PMO environment and will support evolving workflows and tools as the team continues to scale.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support the execution and maintenance of PMO workflows across intake, discovery, and project tracking processes to ensure consistent and reliable operations
  • Maintain and validate structured project data within workflow tools (e.g., Jira), ensuring required fields, relationships, and updates are accurate and aligned across systems
  • Assist in aligning data and outputs across Jira, reporting tools, and the DATS Portal to support accurate reporting and visibility
  • Identify inefficiencies, gaps, or repetitive manual steps in PMO processes and contribute to improving and streamlining workflows
  • Assist in developing and maintaining basic automation solutions (e.g., notifications, reminders, validation checks) to reduce manual coordination efforts
  • Support the development of AI-assisted workflows to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across PMO processes
  • Partner with technical specialists to support implementation of workflow and system enhancements, translating operational needs into structured requirements
  • Support recurring reporting processes and system updates, ensuring data consistency and completeness
  • Contribute to documentation and standardization of workflows, tools, and operating procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, information systems, engineering, analytics, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations, analytics, systems support, or a similar role (preferred)
  • Exposure to structured data environments or process-driven work (e.g., Excel models, databases, workflow tools, or academic projects) is a plus
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools (e.g., Jira or similar platforms) is a plus, particularly in the context of supporting structured processes or data tracking
  • Prior experience working in a professional services, financial services, or private markets environment is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with structured data and process-driven systems
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand relationships between workflows, data structures, and system outputs
  • Ability to work within defined processes and apply structured logic when interacting with workflow systems and tools
  • Comfort working within systems such as Jira (or similar tools) to maintain data accuracy and workflow consistency
  • Ability to learn new tools, systems, and processes with guidance and apply them consistently in a structured environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with curiosity toward identifying inefficiencies and opportunities to improve repeatable processes
  • Strong organization and task management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow work through to completion
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate clearly across teams

Other Attributes:

  • Curious and proactive in understanding how systems and workflows operate
  • Comfortable working in a developing and evolving team structure
  • Willingness to learn from technical specialists and apply feedback
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency
  • Demonstrates patience and persistence when working through structured processes
