Job description

The Workday Integration Student Senior Architect is a strategic technical leader and subject matter expert within the Integration Student practice. This role focuses on architecting and delivering innovative technical solutions for Workday Student implementations, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior Architect partners closely with client technical leadership and internal functional teams to define integrations strategies, design scalable architectures, and guide technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
While this is an individual contributor role, the Senior Architect influences outcomes through thought leadership, solution design, and collaboration across project teams. Additional responsibilities include supporting sales pursuits through solutioning and estimations, contributing to practice innovation, and serving as a key resource for complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Delivery
  • Collaborate with the Student Functional Practice to define and align integrations strategies for diverse project implementation scenarios.

  • Partner with client technical leadership to design and articulate a comprehensive technical roadmap for their Workday Student implementation.

  • Lead technical solutioning for complex integrations and architecture challenges, ensuring scalability and compliance with Workday standards.

  • Communicate and influence project teams across all levels, presenting solution options and guiding decision-making for technical workstreams.

Practice Innovation
  • Drive technical innovation within the Workday Student practice by introducing new approaches, tools, and best practices.

  • Serve as a thought leader for emerging technologies such as Workday Extend and Orchestrate, facilitating monthly client discussions and knowledge sharing.

Project Oversight & Risk Management
  • Provide oversight and guidance to project managers when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk, and develop solutions and strategies.

  • Promote a team-oriented, challenging, and innovative work environment that drives high client satisfaction levels.

Sales & Pre-Sales Support
  • Support RFP responses, orals, and pursuit processes by providing technical solutioning, scoping, and estimations.

  • Review Statements of Work (SOWs) for accuracy and alignment with proposed solutions.

Relationship Building & Influence
  • Establish immediate credibility with clients and internal teams; build consensus and achieve goals through influence rather than direct authority.

  • Identify and foster business development opportunities through trusted advisor relationships.

Additional Duties & Tasks
  • Serve as the technical architect for Workday Student implementations, providing leadership and guidance on integrations strategy and solution design.

  • Lead the integrations workstream on Workday Student projects, managing technical deliverables, coordinating with functional teams, and ensuring successful execution from design through deployment.

  • Translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and interface designs.

  • Review and validate integrations designs and technical approach to ensure compliance with Workday standards and best practices.

  • Conduct technical design reviews and provide direction on coding standards, error handling, and performance optimization.

  • Support sales pursuits by reviewing estimates, scoping integrations work, and attending orals and prospect meetings.

  • Review Statements of Work (SOWs) for technical accuracy and alignment with proposed solutions.

  • Collaborate with client technical leadership to define technical roadmaps and resolve complex architecture challenges.

  • Provide oversight during testing, cutover, and post-go-live support for integrations.

  • Contribute to practice innovation by developing reusable assets, templates, and accelerators for Workday Student integrations.

  • Mentor technical resources and promote knowledge sharing within the integrations practice

Skills & Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of Workday Student Integrations or other Student Implementation experience.
  • Workday Integrations Certifications required: Core Integrations, Studio, (Extend, Orchestrate and Prism are a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments, exercise independent judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in sales engagement, including estimating and presenting to prospects.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50%.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until 09/6/2026The annual salary for this position is between USD 169,545 - USD 214,425 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program , based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
