Job description

Senior RHEL Administrator

We are seeking a Senior-Level Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator to support production Linux servers hosted in AWS and provide hands-on support for the enterprise CUPS printing services. This is a high-impact operational role for someone who can independently troubleshoot issues, stabilize systems, document solutions, and partner effectively across technical teams.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM This is a salaried position the schedule may change due to business demands. Hybrid role Monday and Friday work from home Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday work in office.

Pay: $ $90,000 - $175,000 based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Administer production RHEL servers and core operating system services.
  • Perform patching, upgrades, service management, and incident responses.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, standards, and operational documentation.
  • Use shell scripting and automation to simplify repeatable administration tasks.
  • Support application, network, and service desk teams during print or Linux incidents.
  • Manage CUPS print servers, print queues, printer definitions, and print troubleshooting.
  • Support RHEL servers running in AWS EC2, including NLB, networking, and security group requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous hands-on experience administering CUPS print services and troubleshooting print failures.
  • Previous proven experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a production environment.
  • Previous experience supporting Linux servers running on AWS EC2, including basic NLB, networking, and security group troubleshooting.
  • Ability to own problems through resolution.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues without step-by-step direction.
  • Ability to prioritize stability, risk reduction, and repeatable standards over one-off fixes.
  • Ability to maintain useful runbooks and configuration notes that allow other to support the environment.
  • Ability to be comfortable with patching, change control, incident response, and clear documentation.
  • Ability to work with application, network, service desk, and business teams when issues span multiple systems.
