Job description

Overview
The Harbert College of Business (HCOB) events team is currently accepting applications for a Student Employee to assist the Events Team with the logistics of Harbert College of Business events. This position supports the setup, execution, and breakdown of events by assisting with room preparation, food service stations, and on-site event needs.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, replenish, and tear down food service stations: Utilize & maintain hospitality equipment to arrange/assemble beverage stations that include brewed coffee, water, soft drinks, etc.
  • Manual labor involved: set up and breakdown of tables, chairs, linens, etc.; Light cleaning of event spaces and catering kitchen after events, lifting/moving of up to 30 pounds
  • Help ensure that all spaces are returned to the default setup and in excellent condition after each event.
  • Report any misuse of space or damage to the Event Coordinators or the Manager of Events.
  • Serve as an on-site representative at various events held at the Harbert College of Business.
  • Assist Event Coordinators and the Manager of Events with event and guest coordination, promotional items, and day-of logistics
  • Must be available for evening and weekend events as needed
  • Possess above-average problem-solving and communication skills
  • Easily adapts and handles high-pressure situations and deadlines
  • Arrives promptly for shifts, dressed in business casual attire, presents a professional appearance and enthusiastic attitude
  • Other event duties as needed
