Job description

The Cal Alumni Association (CAA) provides all Cal graduates with rewarding connections to the university, to fellow alums, and to current students. Hours: Average 10 hours per week. Flexible work shifts during the day, evenings, and
weekends.

Summary: As an Event Assistant you will play a key role in providing customer service
for guests visiting Alumni House. You would be joining a fun and dynamic team of about
10 other Event Assistants that quickly and efficiently perform event set up and clean up
duties for guests who rent our Alumni House facility. As a member of the Event
Assistant team you help keep Alumni House presentable and welcome to all guests.

Responsibilities:
● Move and arrange furniture, and clean up before and after events held at Alumni
House
● Set up and test AV equipment before events.
● Serve as the main point of contact for evening and weekend events, and provide
customer service and general event security.
● Provide front desk receptionist coverage and welcoming everyone that comes to
Alumni House.
● Assist with special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
● Must be enrolled at UC Berkeley as a current student.
● Must have flexible schedule, and ability to work during normal business hours
● Able to move and carry furniture, able to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
● Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with meticulous attention to detail.
● Must have customer service skills.
● Must submit to and pass Consumer Report and FBI/DOB fingerprint background
investigations.
● Previous work experience.

Pay Rate: $19 - $20 per hour
