Job Summary
The VP, Digital Transformation Consulting, reports into the SVP of CX & Digital Transformation, and will serve as a principal consultant in overseeing digital transformation consulting projects that deliver client business growth.
You will be responsible for the strategy and delivery of digital transformation consulting projects tailored to the unique needs of our clients. As a strategic leader, you will be the vital link between their business goals and the client's owned technologies, data, and customer experience strategies required to effect transformative change.
In this capacity, you will assume a pivotal role in guiding existing clients toward success. This will be achieved by harnessing the latest customer experience and digital strategies, centered on the pillars of people, processes, and platforms. Your expertise will be applied as a Principle Consultant working across complex or matrixed transformation activities, responsible for guiding and delivering on all aspects of the consulting engagement. In this role you will lend experience related to technology systems, digital maturity advancement, marketing platforms implementation, systems integration, and open operating systems. You'll be supported by consulting team members as well as your SVP and EVP for the capability area. The consulting team also works closely with dedicated PMs from our program management organization (PMO).
In addition to active client support, you contribute to efforts to win business in the Consulting and Digital Transformation spaces, via strategic thinking, category insights, opportunity identification, proposed solutions, proposal content and participating in client meetings or pitch presentations.
Your combined contribution will be instrumental in shaping our capabilities and client delivery towards digital excellence and customer-centricity. You will enjoy this role if you are passionate about helping businesses plan, build and sustain orchestrated customer and digital experiences leveraging the latest strategies, data solutions, and technologies to maximize business growth while navigating the latest changes in the space.
What You'll Do
75% Services Delivery
  • Defines project plan, detail for associated activities, and strategy
  • Ownership of project delivery and related client success, including deliverable creation and finalization, with contributing support from additional team members
  • Defines customer and MarTech platform strategies and solutions across marketing, sales, and service
  • Offers expert guidance to business stakeholders on customer strategy, digital strategy and transformation to address their challenges and opportunities
  • Analyzes and understand the client's Marketing and Advertising Technology maturity and needs from a people/process/system perspective
  • Aligns digital strategies and transformation efforts with the organization's broader goals and vision
  • Drives strategy for omnichannel orchestrated experiences leveraging industry-leading marketing automation platforms and closely connected technologies (CDP, CRM, analytics, etc.)
  • Helps clients plan and implement strategic roadmaps that grow digital maturity and align with organizational objectives
  • Support the research and development of customer strategy artifacts such as customer personas, and first party data segmentation
  • Contributes to the management of customer lifecycle campaigns in channels like email / SMS / loyalty program and development of customer-based content marketing
  • Adjusts based on evolving technologies and market conditions, making necessary adaptations to strategies and transformation plans
  • Helps build next-generation marketing teams and capabilities at Brands that seek to modernize their marketing operations, talent mix, and technology stacks
  • Helps guide the recommendations of others, whether direct reports or supporting account resources
  • Collaborates with clients to identify barriers to the execution of their vision and advise on ways to obtain alignment and action
  • Collaborates with analytics to measure the impact of delivered solutions over time and to identify opportunities for further improvements to the program
  • Monitors customer satisfaction with delivery across program lifecycle across KPIs/SLAs, and objectives, and establishes satisfaction delivery plans

5% Business Development
  • Represents Horizon internal and external business development meetings as a senior leader to understand client needs and define potential solutions
  • Drives new business pipeline through proactive business development, networking, thought leadership contribution, and participation at industry events for Horizon exposure
  • Drives organic program growth and supporting business development initiatives
  • Provides capability leadership and vision (internal and external) for capabilities
  • Educates staff on capabilities to expose to the customer; analyze opportunities and review teams as requested
  • Participates in strategic decisions to maximize pipeline opportunities
  • Helps develop pitch presentations and proposals, contribute to the definition of deliverables, staffing and pricing, as well as develop Statements of Work (SOWs) as needed
  • Contributes to development of marketing and sales assets, e.g., website, client intro deck, webinars
  • Collaborates with Horizon Media teams to provide NM deliverables for broader agency pitches
  • Helps define and execute Horizon's evolving vision as a business, e.g., developing new offerings, processes, collateral, etc. as it related to CX & Digital Transformation
  • Provides support with Horizon HR, Finance and IT-related processes such as interviewing, performance reviews, training, revenue estimates and reporting
  • Drives knowledge creation and knowledge management to support development of Horizon's delivery capabilities

5% Development
  • Mentorship and people development, including consulting team training, recommended learning opportunities (including those funded through our professional development budget), and retention or engagement activities
  • Workforce and resource management oversight and coordination - provide resources to meet the current and future personnel demands and prioritize resources to meet demand levels
  • Participates in team meetings, events and initiatives that foster internal communication, collaboration, and culture

5% Platforms Implementation Oversight
  • Provides oversight of delivery, for projects related to platforms implementation and systems integration
  • Establishes clear business objectives and cross-functional ways of working, to gain client, internal HM alignment
  • Oversees and provides input for a project plan, aligned to strategy defined during a consulting engagement, to ensure platforms are implemented for maximum marketing impact
  • Oversees teams delivering the work, in a matrixed environment with HM Accounts and Technology groups
  • Helps identify, troubleshoot or escalate as needed any issues that emerge during the engagement to ensure effective delivery
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other teams as needed at Horizon, the client's partners and vendors and the client to deliver the engagement
  • Leads the presentation of key initiatives with support from SMEs and account leads

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, e.g. business, marketing, communications
  • 12+ years of experience with digital marketing / ecommerce / consulting with an emphasis in consultative service offerings for CX, digital strategy, marketing technology platforms, and/or digital transformation
  • Proven experience and examples of success in retaining client business as well as generating client upsell and/or net new business revenue contribution, within an agency
  • At least 2 years leading and developing a related agency or consulting capability, with a track record of results related to that capability (e.g. client success, revenue growth, etc.)
  • At least 2 years directly managing a team of 3 or more for the successful delivery of a capability
  • A strong operator with demonstrated understanding of Customer Relationship Management, Content Management, Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Commerce Technology
  • An in-depth understanding of emerging technologies, IT infrastructure, and digital marketing tools vital for driving transformation efforts
  • Expertise in developing roadmaps for marketing technology ecosystems needed to better serve customers (e.g., marketing automation platform, CDP, data clean rooms, etc.)
  • Depending on the industry, familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards may be necessary, particularly in digital transformation efforts
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and focused on building and sustaining team member engagement
  • Ability to lead and facilitate workshops - discovery, brainstorming, review, and final read-out
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing client relationships

Salary Range
$200,000.00 - $250,000.00
A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
