Job Summary

VP, Digital Transformation Consulting reports to the SVP of CX & Digital Transformation and serves as a principal consultant overseeing digital transformation projects that drive client business growth. Responsibilities include strategy and delivery of digital transformation consulting projects, acting as the vital link between client business goals and owned technologies, data, and customer experience strategies to effect transformative change. The role guides existing clients toward success by applying customer experience and digital strategy pillarsโ€”people, processes, and platforms. The VP will collaborate with consulting team members, SVP, EVP, dedicated PMs, and PMO; support business development through strategic thinking, opportunities, proposals, pitches, and client meetings; and influence capabilities and delivery toward digital excellence.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • 75% Services Delivery
    • Define project plan, activities, and strategy.
    • Own project delivery, client success, deliverable creation, finalization with support from team members.
    • Define customer and MarTech platform strategies across marketing, sales, and service.
    • Offer expert guidance on customer strategy, digital strategy and transformation.
    • Analyze and understand clientโ€™s Marketing and Advertising Technology maturity and needs from a people/process/system perspective.
    • Align digital strategies with broader business goals and vision.
    • Drive omnichannel orchestrated experiences leveraging industryโ€‘leading marketing automation platforms and connected technologies (CDP, CRM, analytics, etc.).
    • Help clients plan and implement strategic roadmaps for digital maturity.
    • Support research and development of customer strategy artifacts such as personas and firstโ€‘party data segmentation.
    • Contribute to management of customer lifecycle campaigns in eโ€‘mail, SMS, loyalty, and content marketing.
    • Adjust strategies based on evolving technologies and market conditions.
    • Help build nextโ€‘generation marketing teams and capabilities.
    • Guide recommendations of others, including direct reports or account resources.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify execution barriers and advise on alignment and action.
    • Collaborate with analytics to measure impact and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction across the program lifecycle using KPIs/SLAs and establish satisfaction plans.
    • Lead delivery and refine consulting service offering and operational processes, including Use Case & Requirements Gathering, Maturity Modeling Assessment, Agile Marketing Transformation, Competitive Benchmarking, MarTech / AdTech Strategy & Planning, Strategic Planning & Roadmap Development, Business Case Development, and Change Management for Strategy Adoption.
  • 5% Business Development
    • Represent Horizon in internal and external meetings, understand client needs, and define solutions.
    • Drive new business pipeline through proactive business development, networking, thought leadership, and industry events.
    • Drive organic program growth and support business development initiatives.
    • Provide capability leadership and vision for CX & Digital Transformation capabilities.
    • Educate staff on capabilities, analyze opportunities, and review teams as requested.
    • Participate in strategic decisions to maximize pipeline opportunities.
    • Help develop pitch presentations and proposals, define deliverables, staffing and pricing, and develop Statements of Work (SOWs).
    • Contribute to marketing and sales assets, including website, client intro deck, webinars.
    • Collaborate with Horizon Media teams for deliverables for broader agency pitches.
    • Help define and execute Horizonโ€™s evolving vision as a business, including new offerings, processes, collateral.
    • Provide support with Horizon HR, Finance, and IT processes such as interviewing, performance reviews, training, revenue estimates, and reporting.
    • Drive knowledge creation and management to support capability development.
  • 5% Development Mentorship and People Development
    • Mentorship and people development, including consulting team training, recommended learning opportunities, and retention or engagement activities.
    • Oversee workforce and resource management, coordinate resources to meet current and future demands, prioritize resources.
    • Participate in team meetings, events, and initiatives that foster internal communication, collaboration, and culture.
  • 5% Platforms Implementation Oversight
    • Provide oversight of delivery for platform implementation and systems integration projects.
    • Establish clear business objectives and crossโ€‘functional working arrangements for client, internal, and vendor alignment.
    • Oversee and provide input for a project plan aligned to strategy from consulting engagement.
    • Ensure portfolio teams deliver maximum marketing impact.
    • Oversee teams delivering work in a matrixed environment with Horizon Accounts and Technology groups.
    • Identify, troubleshoot or escalates issues to ensure effective delivery.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with other teams, partners, and vendors to deliver engagement.
    • Lead presentation of key initiatives with support from SMEs and account leads.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, communications).
  • 12+ years of experience in digital marketing/ecommerce/consulting emphasizing CX, digital strategy, marketing technology platforms, and/or digital transformation.
  • Proven success retaining client business and generating upsell or net new revenue within an agency.
  • At least 2 years leading and developing a consulting capability with results in client success, revenue growth.
  • At least 2 years directly managing a team of 3 or more for successful delivery of a capability.
  • Strong operator with understanding of CRM, Content Management, Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Commerce Technology.
  • Inโ€‘depth understanding of emerging technologies, IT infrastructure, and digital marketing tools.
  • Expertise in developing roadmaps for marketing technology ecosystems (e.g., marketing automation platform, CDP, data clean rooms).
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards as required.
  • Collaborative, teamโ€‘oriented, focused on building engagement.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate workshops (discovery, brainstorming, review, final readโ€‘out).
  • Track record of managing and growing client relationships.
  • Change agent, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communicator, partner crossโ€‘functionally, capable of boardโ€‘level interactions.
  • Experience with sales activities and pursuits, including proposals and statements of work; managing a defined revenue target.
  • Team player with solid communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable in a startup environment: hardworking, resourceful, flexible, resilient, positive, and handles imperfect information and rapid change.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations: training and certification in relevant platforms preferred; willingness to train and certify on additional platforms required.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00. The actual base salary may vary based on an individualโ€™s skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
