About the Opportunity
MVP Health Care is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the full lifecycle management of critical vendor relationships from implementation through steady-state operations and eventual deimplementation or transition. This role is central to ensuring that vendor engagements deliver measurable value, remain compliant with regulatory and contractual requirements, and align with MVP's enterprise strategy and optimization efforts.
This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Health Management, Network, Digital/IT, Finance, Business Owners and key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure medical and network vendors are selected, governed, and overseen in a disciplined, transparent, and value-driven manner.
  • What You'll Do
    • Own end-to-end vendor lifecycle management, including intake, risk assessment, contract development, onboarding/implementation, ongoing governance, performance optimization, renewal, and deimplementation or termination for medical and network vendors
    • Lead structured implementations, deimplementations and transition planning to mitigate member, provider, operational, financial, and regulatory risk
    • Partner with key stakeholders and Legal to develop and manage contracts including MSAs, SOWs, SLA/PGs, amendments, and renewals
    • Ensure SLAs are measurable, enforceable, and aligned to business requirements, including remedies, credits, and escalation thresholds
    • Monitor vendor performance against PGs, SLAs, financial commitments, and compliance requirements; drive corrective action plans when gaps are identified
    • Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams to identify, root cause and resolve vendor related issues
    • Act as a trusted advisor to business owners, helping them structure vendor engagements for long-term success
    • Present vendor insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees
    • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Skills and Experience
  • Education, Licensures, & Certifications
    • BA/BS degree or the equivalent amount of education and directly related experience
  • Years of Experience (Required & Preferred)
    • Two years of experience in vendor management or related field, preferred
    • Clinical or administrative health care experience, preferred
  • Required Job Skills
    • Strong program and project management capabilities across multiple concurrent initiatives with ability to prioritize tasks effectively
    • Advanced contract development and SLA/PG interpretation skills; ability to translate legal terms into operational controls.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including SLA/PG development, performance analysis, and executive reporting
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence without authority
    • Proven ability to manage risk, ambiguity, and cross-functional dependencies
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Preferred Job Skills
    • Understanding of vendor management best practices and regulation

Knowledge of contract law and regulations preferred

The base pay range provided for this role reflects our good faith compensation estimate at the time of posting. MVP adheres to pay transparency nondiscrimination principles.
