Job description


As a Security Receptionist , the primary responsibility is to warmly greet and welcome visitors as they arrive at the building, guiding or directing them to their intended destination. Provide essential administrative and operational support to the Security Leadership/Management team. Works under close supervision, follows established processes and procedures to execute routine front desk security tasks, helping minimize risks to Navy Federal Credit Union assets, members, and employees.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor facility receptionist areas; Responsible for checking in visitors and providing the appropriate badges and assist with controlling access
  • Serves as a dispatcher for security assistance/services (e.g., escorts, transportation, vehicle malfunctions)
  • Facilitate/collaborate with security personnel on emergency situations (fire, medical, hazardous weather, etc.
  • Prepare, enter, and complete forms in database as they relate to Visitor access, Contractor, and Employee Access
  • Receive incoming calls, determine purpose and/or forward to appropriate personnel or functional area for response
  • Receive and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries and ensure that incoming items are screened and processed in accordance with security procedures.
  • Verify identification and ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed access.
  • Prepare, maintain, and complete a variety of SharePoint reports
  • Identify, investigate, and report discrepancies/processing problems to include documentation and time-sensitive issues
  • Assist security staff with parking and managing new hire / applicants and the front desk waiting area Assist with the observation of suspicious activity
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received through various media channels
  • Collect, sort, and distribute reports, correspondence, on-line messages, and faxes
  • Review reports and data; take necessary action(s)
  • Complete data entry in automated systems; may generate reports as necessary
  • Act as liaison between business units in support of operational initiatives
  • Operate and maintain standard office equipment
  • Maintain and stock essential materials and supplies
  • Complete security training and emergency training
  • Remain alert for possible emergency situations; follow Security procedures, contain situations, and alert security management, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Basic skill performing mathematical calculations and working accurately with numbers
  • Basic skill analyzing and organizing problems or work processes
  • Basic skill interacting with staff, management, vendors, members diplomatically & tactfully
  • Word processing and spreadsheet software skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Basic skill navigating multiple screens and PC applications and adapting to new technologies
  • Basic skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
  • Uses business software applications (e.g., word processing, presentation and spreadsheet) to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, and meeting minutes,)
  • Complete security training and emergency training within a reasonable period of time
  • High school graduate or a GED or equivalent experience
