Position Overview

Hoffman Mechanical Solutions is seeking an experienced Training & Development Manager to lead, oversee, and manage all technical and professional development initiatives across the organization. This strategic leadership role will support workforce planning, apprenticeship development, technical training, leadership development, onboarding, sales enablement, and administrative learning initiatives. The role will partner closely with Operations, HR, Safety, and Executive Leadership to build scalable workforce development strategies that support growth, retention, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide training and development strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead apprenticeship and workforce development initiatives, including DOL registration support.
  • Build scalable technical, leadership, onboarding, and professional development programs.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify capability gaps and succession planning needs.
  • Oversee OEM, safety, technical, sales, and administrative training initiatives.
  • Leverage AI tools and learning technologies to improve training efficiency and employee engagement.
  • Implement metrics and dashboards to measure training effectiveness, ROI, retention, and performance impact.
  • Manage LMS systems, training records, certifications, budgets, and vendor partnerships.
  • Coordinate instructor development and internal subject matter expert training programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Organizational Development, Education, HR, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience within HVAC, mechanical services, construction, manufacturing, or related trades.
  • 5+ years leading training, development, workforce planning, or apprenticeship initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and technical training.
  • Experience working with apprenticeship programs, DOL standards, and technical certifications.
  • Experience using LMS systems, analytics tools, and AI-enabled learning technologies.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, leadership, and organizational skills.
