COMPENSATION
Hourly Pay Range: $22.981132 - $28.908974
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

We looking to hire four (4) motivated, self-directed, customer service focused, and highly dedicated individuals with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our team as Temporary Part Time Library Assistants at the Clackamas County Library for Oak Lodge & Gladstone branches. These positions are on-call and hours per week will fluctuate.
Oak Lodge and Gladstone Libraries are a part of the Department of Transportation & Development (DTD) under Community Services. We are committed to providing direct public library services to the Oak Lodge and Gladstone communities within the LINCC consortium. We are searching for an individual who is motivated to contribute to a team with a strong focus on quality library services, innovative outreach, programming, and who can demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Required Minimum Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:*
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience providing direct customer service to the public
  • Experience working in a public library environment
  • Knowledge of library methods, procedures, practices and terminology
Preferred Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:*
  • Experience interpreting and applying rules and standards of the County library system and the consortium
  • Experience using the Dewey Decimal classification system
  • Experience using the Symphony library software system
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check

WORK SCHEDULE
This position works a Part Time schedule (less than 20 hours per week). The Library has needs for coverage on Mondays and Saturdays, but shifts may include alternative weekdays, evenings and/or weekend work. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
Please Note: This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties require continuous walking/moving, standing for extended periods, frequent squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching forward and overhead, fine motor control, and the ability to lift 35 pounds, lift and carry 20 pounds, overhead reach 5 pounds, and push/pull 20 pounds. Duties also involve exposure to dust and odors/fumes including strong perfumes.
BENEFITS INFORMATION
A temporary status or seasonal status position receives EAP benefits only. Employees will accrue one (1) hour of sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked with a maximum accrual of eighty (80) hours per year
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Clackamas County Library Network is a division of the County's Department of Business and Community Services. The Library Network provides services and support to all public libraries within the Clackamas County Library District. Services include OCLC cataloging, an Inter-library Loan Program, computer system/WAN administration, and inter-library courier delivery services.
