Job description

Founded in Paris in 2002 by Rose and Jean Charles Carrarini, Rose Bakery is renowned for its signature fresh, seasonal, and natural foods making it a mainstay at Dover Street Markets around the world. This philosophy has garnered them an international following, two renowned cookbooks by Phaidon and multiple locations in Paris, London, Tokyo and Seoul. 

Job Overview:  

At Rose Bakery, the Pastry Chef works closely with the Café Manager/Head Chef to create a variety of innovative pastries. This role includes managing the daily operations of the pastry department, overseeing cost control, developing the menu, and helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative and enticing desserts to refresh our menus and captivate the attention of our clientele.
  • Preparing a wide variety of baked good such as cakes, scones, etc.  
  • Mix and bake a variety of pastry items including but not limited to breads, batters, doughs, creams, custards, and beverage bases.
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc.
  • Assist in sourcing and placing orders for both food and non-food orders while keeping cost control in mind.
  • Comply with and enforce hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Regulate general cleaning and maintenance of all bakery areas including the kitchen, dry storage and walk in.
  • Provide line cooks with clear directives and guidance.
  • Work closely with the Café Manager/Head Chef and Rose Bakery principles/owners.
