EXFO is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Sales Engineer to partner closely with the U.S. Sales Team, accelerate sales growth, and deliver technical expertise to network operators, hyperscalers, enterprise customers, and fiber construction firms across the United States. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of fiber networks, fiber testing, industry testing standards, telecom network services, Ethernet, and transport testing. Preferred location is the Western or Midwestern U.S.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Focus:
Support EXFO Sales Team by promoting testing equipment into service provider and private network markets.
§ Provide support at trade shows, conferences, and customer demonstrations focusing on technical product applications.
§ Develop and deploy sales force training curricula in coordination with Sales Manager and Director.
§ Participate in field evaluations to ensure customers are properly trained on EXFO testing solutions.
§ Manage technical aspects of lab evaluations in close coordination with sales manager to ensure product approval.
§ Respond to RFPs in close coordination with sales manager to provide best positive response to technical requirements.
§ Support will consist of maintenance and preparation of demo materials, performing product demonstrations, specific application support for clients and ongoing support.
Customer Focus:
§ Provide solution proposals and justification to suit customer needs.
§ Maintain close supportive relationships with key accounts to ensure smooth acceptance of products.
§ Provide customer training, test plans and job aids when appropriate to ensure smooth acceptance of products.
§ Assists customer with development of test automation solutions to include custom scripts and/or applications.
§ Prepare and present technology seminars to educate customers and potential customers on EXFOs testing solutions.
Product Focus:
§ Provide technical interface between Product Management Team and customers by developing and maintaining key technical relationships at key accounts.
§ Advise Product Management Team on product feature/road map to coordinate with upcoming customer requirements.
§ Provide competitive intelligence - feature set, road map, pricing.
§ Participate in product improvement by identifying product applications and by studying and reporting on market trends.
§ Author/Co-Author application notes and white papers to increase product visibility and acceptance.
§ Explore alternative products and technology integrations that could improve EXFO's overall solutions and enhance product sales.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
§ 5+ years' experience working as an Applications/Solutions/Support Engineer or similar, or as a Technician in OSP fiber construction, structured cabling infrastructure, DWDM/optical transport, ethernet/transport services or adjacent technology sectors.
§ The candidate should have hands-on experience with field test and measurement, and a strong knowledge of testing standards, optical technology and networks, and ethernet and transport protocols and applications.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education: Degree holder/and or equivalent in Engineering, Technology, Telecommunications, Optics. Relevant practical work experience will be considered. Industry Certifications: FOA, FBA, RCDD, DCDC, CCNA are a plus.
Language requirements: English written and spoken.
