Scope of Responsibility: Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Engineer serves as the primary technical resource supporting the sales organization and customers throughout the sales lifecycle. This role is responsible for translating customer technical requirements into practical infrastructure solutions, supporting business development efforts, coordinating with internal engineering and operations teams, and helping drive revenue growth through technical expertise and customer engagement. The Sales Engineer will work closely with customers, vendors, project teams, and leadership to ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with company capabilities and strategic objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide technical sales support during customer meetings, presentations, site visits, and solution development discussions.
  • Develop and review technical proposals, scope documents, conceptual designs, and customer-facing solution packages
  • Collaborate with engineering, estimating, operations, and project management teams to ensure accurate and achievable project deliverables.
  • Assist the sales team in qualifying opportunities, identifying customer requirements, and developing customized infrastructure solutions.
  • Support bid responses, RFPs, RFIs, and technical documentation efforts for prospective and existing customers.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of industry trends, competitive offerings, emerging technologies, and customer requirements within the infrastructure and construction markets.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, consultants, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings to ensure smooth transition from sales to execution teams.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Complete other assignments as required and provide assistance to management when requested.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and industry experience may be considered.

Education:

  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, project engineering, or infrastructure-related solutions support.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions and developing solution-based proposals.
  • Background in infrastructure, telecommunications, modular construction, utility, data center, or industrial-related industries preferred.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple departments including engineering, operations, estimating, and sales.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and technical document review.
  • Ability to travel as needed for customer meetings, project reviews, and industry events.

Physical Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
  • Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
  • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
