Technical Specialist- Mid Levelย

ย Business Relations Management and Customer Service unit is seeking a Technical Specialist for the Information Technology Business Office efforts supporting NCDOT IT Procurement Services.ย 

***This will be a Hybrid position and must be available to come into the office when needed.ย 

***The candidate must come in to pick up his or her equipment on the first day at own expense.ย 

***The candidate must be currently living in North Carolina.ย 

This contractor serves as an IT Business Office resource and is responsible for the procurement of contract and non-contract goods and services for the agency. Primary responsibilities include obtaining required vendor quotes, processing purchase orders for software, equipment and other commodities as assigned. Prepare and post to the Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP), the Sourcing Tool, the Contract Workspace, and complete bid solicitations including Request for Quotes (RFQโ€™s), Invitation for Bids (IFBโ€™s), Request for Proposals (RFPโ€™s), addendumโ€™s, amendments, clarifications, and exception documentation.ย 

Key areas of responsibility daily for this position include:ย 

โ€ข Extensive knowledge and experience in the procurement of goods and services for governmental agencies to make objective decisions and accurate judgments.

ย โ€ข Exceptional writing and listening skills are required.

ย โ€ข Ability to follow instructions explicitly and be detailed-orientated.

ย โ€ข Working knowledge and experience of state policies and regulations.ย 

โ€ข Procure Information Technology goods/services such as software, equipment and other commodities as assigned.

โ€ข Comprehend, apply, and interpret established rules and regulations, complex technical contract language.ย
