The Radiology Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. Collaborating closely with the radiology team, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting with patient transport, clerical duties, and supply management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize TEAM principles (Teamwork, Empathy, Accountability, Messaging) to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Identify opportunities to enhance patient experience and participate in service improvement initiatives.
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers and provide basic education about procedures to reduce anxiety.
- Assist with patient positioning following no-lift protocols.
- Prepare procedure rooms between cases and restock supplies.
- Perform clerical tasks including document collection and data generation.
- Support electronic image management and communication with radiologists.
- Manage waste disposal and maintain emergency supply inventories.
- Demonstrate ongoing competency in role-specific functions.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
- No prior experience required.
