Job description

The Radiology Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. Collaborating closely with the radiology team, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting with patient transport, clerical duties, and supply management.
Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize TEAM principles (Teamwork, Empathy, Accountability, Messaging) when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance patient experience and participate in service improvement initiatives.
  • Perform patient identification using two identifiers and verify with wristbands.
  • Provide basic education to patients about examinations and refer questions appropriately to reduce anxiety.
  • Assist with patient transfers and positioning following no-lift protocols.
  • Prepare procedure rooms between cases and restock supplies.
  • Perform clerical tasks including document collection and data generation for procedures.
  • Support electronic image management, including importing and sharing images.
  • Assist with communication between radiologists, providers, and technologists.
  • Manage waste disposal and maintain department cleanliness.
  • Inventory and restock emergency supplies as needed.
  • Maintain competencies relevant to the role and actively contribute to patient satisfaction.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • No prior work experience necessary.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent guest relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write English effectively.
  • Receptive to supervision within a multidisciplinary team.
