Senior Associate

Job Description Summary

Cushman and Wakefield is seeking a Senior Associate for their premier debt and structured finance capital markets team. The role will be based out of the company’s global headquarters located in downtown Chicago.
The team has executed nearly $15 billion in transactions since 2014, specializing in the financing of all property types throughout Chicago and the broader Midwest.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can operate in a fast-paced environment, multi-task under tight deadlines while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. The Senior Associate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial analysis and analytical support, which will include underwriting property financial information using ARGUS and MS Excel, and manage the preparation of marketing materials for delivery to borrowers and lenders. This position requires significant computer and communication skills with a strong emphasis on ARGUS and Excel modeling. Desire to work across multiple property types, professionalism, and attention to detail are key traits for an ideal candidate.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, prepares cash flow analysis, summary documentation and spreadsheets.
  • Analyzes legal real estate documentation: i.e. leases, property financial statements, tenant reimbursement reconciliation statements.
  • Works with analysts and other junior members of the team to provide completed financial analysis on real estate transactions.
  • Prepare and conduct written and oral presentations for Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Create Offering Memorandum (OM) used to market a property for financing.
  • Interacts with potential lenders to clearly explain underwritten details and calculations.
  • Assist in the transfer of information between lender and borrower during due diligence.
  • Maintain databases tracking various aspects of capital market deal flow.

Skills Required

  • Highly proficient in working with numbers.
  • Strong attention to detail leading to efficient error free analysis.
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or Business.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Mastery of ARGUS Software and in-depth understanding of real estate market fundamentals
  • 5+ years of commercial real estate experience is preferred
