Job Summary:
As a Tax Manager, you will work closely with partners, staff, and real estate clients, leading the planning, management, review, and completion of client engagements. You will provide proactive tax planning and compliance services to real estate owners, investors, developers, and closely held entities, often involving complex partnership structures, multi-entity organizations, and transaction-driven considerations. You also support business development efforts, cultivate long term client relationships, and serve as a key point of contact for designated clients, delivering a high touch, advisory focused experience.
Our professionals have one goal in mind when working with clients-to help them minimize their tax liability while remaining compliant with ever-changing tax laws. In addition to providing consulting and compliance tax services, our tax professionals offer specialized real estate tax advisory services, including guidance on entity structuring, investment analysis, and transaction planning. We also provide expert consultation regarding the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and liquidations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage and review complex tax returns for real estate-focused clients, including partnerships, flow-through entities, closely held businesses, and related individual returns
  • Understand clients' real estate investment structures and business objectives; identify and analyze tax issues and clearly articulate relevant tax considerations, application of authority, and conclusions
  • Lead tax engagements from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring fees, and timely delivery
  • Provide proactive tax planning related to real estate transactions, acquisitions, dispositions, and ongoing operations
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-touch service and serving as a trusted advisor
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all client tax returns and related deliverables
  • Review work prepared by team members and provide constructive feedback to ensure technical quality and accuracy
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop associates and senior associates, supporting both technical and professional growth
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations affecting the real estate industry

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • Active CPA license required
  • 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with a strong focus on real estate tax planning, compliance, and consulting
  • Extensive experience with partnership and flow-through entity taxation
  • Strong understanding of tax implications related to real estate investments, transactions, and entity structures
  • Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, training, developing, and reviewing the work of staff and senior associates
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
