The general role of the Senior Associate, Real Estate is to support the firmโ€™s site selection, portfolio management, and construction/development efforts on behalf of its borrowers and portfolio companies. This includes evaluating existing locations, supporting site relocation initiatives, and identifying opportunities to optimize real estate performance and value. This is an in-office position and will entail travel throughout PA, MN, MD, OH and adjacent markets.

What You'll Do:

  • Support retail site selection initiatives for the firmโ€™s portfolio companies in PA, MN, MD, and OH, including conducting market research, due diligence, zoning and entitlement coordination, construction budget analysis, and project monitoring;
  • Assist with portfolio management and strategic real estate initiatives, including site relocations, renewals, market optimization, and analysis of existing locations to enhance operational performance and real estate value;
  • Assist in managing construction projects ranging from full ground-up developments to interior buildouts across industrial and retail product types;
  • Review and assess appraisals, environmental reports, surveys, zoning analyses, and property condition reports related to loans made to the firmโ€™s borrowers, and help monitor real estate collateral within the firmโ€™s loan portfolio;
  • Prepare analytical reports and maintain portfolio tracking data through cloud-based systems and reporting tools;
  • Collaborate closely with legal, underwriting, accounting, and finance teams to evaluate opportunities and risks associated with loan and investment collateral;
  • Support asset management initiatives through research, reporting, and project coordination.

  • At least 3 years of experience in real estate construction, finance, development, portfolio management, or site selection;
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred, with concentrations in Architecture, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Real Estate, or related fields;
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams;
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
