Job description

About depthfirstWe believe that software is the foundation of modern civilization. Yet vulnerabilities threaten its integrity, security, and resilience. We are on a mission to secure the world's software.
depthfirst is building intelligence to detect and remediate critical software vulnerabilities. We are training and scaling security AI agents to discover zero-day vulnerabilities across large customer codebases and popular open source software.
Our founding team brings deep expertise in data, infrastructure, security and AI, with leaders from DeepMind, Databricks, Square, and Faire. We're looking for thoughtful, driven people excited to work at the intersection of AI, Security, and Infrastructure.
About This Role
We're looking for an Enterprise Solutions Engineer to help enterprises transform how they secure software. This is a highly strategic, customer-facing role where you will own the technical sales motion from discovery through validation and expansion.
You'll partner directly with Account Executives, security leaders, and engineering teams to define evaluation criteria, lead technical validation, and translate results into measurable business impact. As an early member of the solutions engineering function, you will help define how we run evaluations, position differentiated value, and scale our enterprise motion.
You're excited about this role because you will...
  • Own and lead full-cycle technical evaluations, from discovery through proof of value and executive readout
  • Partner with security and engineering stakeholders to define clear success criteria tied to vulnerability detection quality, false positive reduction, and remediation speed
  • Demonstrate how depthfirst differs from legacy SAST and SCA tools through contextual code understanding, reachability and exploitability analysis, and highly repeatable results
  • Work hands-on in customer CI/CD environments (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.) to ensure seamless deployment and minimal developer disruption
  • Translate technical validation into executive-ready ROI narratives for CISOs, CTOs, and VPs of Engineering
  • Act as the voice of the customer to Product and Engineering, shaping roadmap priorities based on real-world feedback
  • Help build and scale a world-class solutions engineering function, including playbooks, demo environments, and repeatable evaluation frameworks

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Security Engineer, or similar
  • Strong understanding of modern software development workflows and CI/CD systems
  • Exposure to application security, vulnerability management, static analysis, or secure SDLC practices
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineers and executive stakeholders
  • High ownership mentality and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments
  • Mission-driven and genuinely excited about AI and security
  • Located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco (preferred)

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • High ownership and impact as an early member of the go-to-market team
  • The opportunity to join a rapidly scaling AI security startup during a critical growth phase
