Job description

Job Summary:
Dematic is a company focused on creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables for their products. The Sr Manager, Software Documentation will lead a team of technical writers, ensuring high-quality documentation that supports the deployment and usage of Dematic's software platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Build positive relationships with engineers, product managers, other authorities and collaborators, and leaders of those groups along with colleagues in PTI
• Conduct needs analysis sessions to determine the appropriate depth and breadth of content for the various internal and external audiences
• Write, edit, and organize technical content regarding installing, configuring, and customizing Dematic software products and required third party applications
• Take complex input and information from multiple sources, analyze to determine next steps, and effectively execute the plan, adjusting as needed
• Partner with instructional designers to create engaging and accurate learning content
• Learn the products and be self-sufficient in using software with simulators and test equipment
• Establish a strong feedback loop with experts in various roles and continuously improve deliverables
• Lead monthly team meetings and regular 1-on-1s to foster information sharing, recognition, and connection
Qualifications:
Required:
• Ability to guide and grow a team, coordinate performance, adjust to change, and foster a culture of responsibility, trust, and achieve results.
• Skilled in communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional teamwork to align teams with business objectives.
• Exceptional writing skills to produce effective technical content for an engineering audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Outstanding ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, edge devices, IOT 4.0, and similar concepts.
• Confirmed experience with information architecture.
• Familiarity with usability, user experience, and UX writing.
• Minimum 6 years of experience documenting technical products.
• Experience creating API and code documentation and other developer deliverables.
• Proficiency with content authoring, publishing, and multimedia development using a variety of applications.
• Experience with DITA and structured authoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, communications, computer science, or similar field.
Preferred:
• A good sense of humor and an ability to have fun!
• Master’s degree desired, equivalent certifications and experience may be substituted.
• Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset.
