Job description

Overview

The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible forย the analysis, administration, and continuous improvement of employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, retirement, absence, and voluntary benefits for the US and Canada. This role partners closely with HR leadership, HRIS, payroll, vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure programs are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals. The Senior Benefits Analyst also provides subject matterย expertise, data insights, and strategic recommendations to enhanceย employeeย experience.ย 

This is a fully remote position that offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $120,000, plus an annual bonus. You'll also receive our excellent benefits package, which includes medical coverage starting on day one and a company-matched 401(k). Responsibilities

US and Canada Benefits Administration & Strategyย 

  • Manage and administer all US and Canada employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, savings and spending accounts, life insurance, disability, retirement, absence, and wellness initiativesย 
  • Evaluate current benefits offerings and recommend enhancements based on market trends,ย utilizationย data, and employee needsย 
  • Support benefits strategy development and implementation aligned with organizational objectivesย 

Data Analysis & Reportingย 

  • Analyze benefits data (enrollment, claims,ย utilization, and cost trends) toย identifyย opportunities for cost savings and program improvementsย 
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to support decision-makingย 
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to ensure competitiveness in the marketย 
  • Conduct reconciliations and system auditsย 

Vendor Managementย 

  • Act as primary liaison with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultantsย 
  • Monitor vendor performance and service levels; resolve escalated issuesย 
  • Participate in vendor selection, implementations, RFP processes, and contract negotiationsย 

Compliance & Governanceย 

  • Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA) and Canada regulations.ย 
  • Prepare and review required US filings and disclosures (e.g., Form 5500, SPD, SAR, 1095-Cs) and Canada filings and disclosures.ย 
  • Lead testing and audits (e.g., 401k, non-discrimination)ย 
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and assess impact on benefits programsย 

Open Enrollment & Communicationsย 

  • Lead and execute annual open enrollment processesย 
  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging employee communications and educational materialsย 
  • Conduct benefits presentations and training sessions for employees and HR partnersย 

Cross-Functional Collaborationย 

  • Partner with HR, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, Vendor Risk, Information Security, and Legal teams to ensure seamless benefits operationsย 
  • Support system integrations and HRIS updates related to benefitsย 
  • Assistย with mergers, acquisitions, and other organizational changesย impactingย benefitsย 

Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree inย Humanย Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)ย 
  • 5ย -ย 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration or benefits analysisย 
  • Experience in a large or multi-state organization preferredย 
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable laws/regulations. US required, Canada preferredย 
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trendsย 
  • Expertiseย in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday,ย UKG) and Excel (pivot tables, modeling).
