Responsibilities

  • SEO and AEO Strategy: Own and execute the organic search, local search, and answer engine optimization strategy. Drive visibility and lead generation across traditional search engines and emerging generative AI platforms, ensuring delivery of all core departmental initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage direct reports while providing strategic guidance to broader partners. Support team growth and performance across both AI driven visibility initiatives and traditional organic search programs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead initiatives that require alignment across marketing, brand, engineering, product, and other internal teams. Translate SEO and AEO needs into clear requirements and drive execution through collaboration and influence.
  • Measurement and Insights: Analyze, document, and present SEO and AEO performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Communicate insights clearly to marketing leadership and executive stakeholders, connecting performance to business outcomes.
  • Innovation and Experimentation: Stay current on SEO, AEO, and digital marketing trends. Proactively test new tools, platforms, and strategies to improve organic visibility, lead quality, and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of SEO experience at mid to large organizations with multiple locations
  • 3 or more years of experience directly managing teams 
  • Advanced experience analyzing and optimizing content for organic lead generation
  • Proven experience optimizing for generative AI engines, answer platforms, and emerging discovery tools
  • Demonstrated success generating leads from organic search results pages, answer engines, and other organic acquisition channels
  • Deep understanding of technical SEO and on-site optimization best practices
  • Ability to deliver clear, actionable recommendations across content, internal linking, and technical improvements
  • Proven experience building internal linking strategies, local SEO campaigns, content programs, site speed improvements, and usability enhancements for both organic and paid users
  • Experience conducting regular competitive analysis for both local and national brands and translating insights into action
  • Strong understanding of local SEO ranking factors and performance drivers
  • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools including Conductor, SEMrush, Mouseflow, Google Analytics 4, Supermetrics, Google Business Profile, BrightLocal, Authority Labs, and similar platforms
  • Consistent engagement with evolving SEO and AEO trends
  • Experience influencing website UX and usability decisions across devices from a search performance perspective
  • Experience managing enterprise SEO programs within content management systems
