Job description

SEO Writer

Sweetwater, the nation's number one online retailer of musical instruments & pro audio gear is looking to add an SEO Writer to our growing eCommerce team! As an SEO Writer, you will apply your expertise to optimize over 1M+ pages of unique content — this includes short and long-form pieces across multiple channels, published over the course of decades — that may need modification.

You will partner with the SEO and Content team to create and optimize content to rank well in strategic areas and use search engine optimization strategies to write copy that boosts our website's search engine ranking. When writing copy, you will create content to improve organic visibility to support our business goals. This includes planning and producing high-quality articles, guides, and shopping page enhancements aligned to search intent.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for optimizing content for on-page SEO and performance
  • Generate recommendations based on results and trends
  • Create new content for existing E-commerce category and brand pages
  • Collaborate with SEO and Merchandising teams to align priorities for organic visibility and search
  • Assess content templates and standards while staying current on SERP and algorithm shifts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or other field
  • 2-4+ years of SEO writing experience in a retail or eCommerce environment
  • Ability to play and understand musical equipment across a variety of categories preferred
  • Ability to use tools like Ahrefs, SEM Rush to conduct keyword research preferred
  • Understanding and incorporation of modern SEO best practices in writing, proofing, and content editing
