Job description

Position Summary: It is the responsibility of the MRI Supervisor to oversee the MRI team to ensure quality diagnostic imaging and patient care. position wherein the MRI Supervisor is a full time MRI Technologist. The MRI Supervisor is responsible for ensuring department performance, supervision & leadership to staff technologists.
Qualifications: ARRT certification
MRI registered
Minimum 5 years Supervisor experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides supervision and leadership for MRI technologists.
• Recruits, trains, and monitors new technologists. Coordinates with Lead MR technologist.
• Orders supplies as needed.
• Perform MRI scans on patients utilizing existing radiologist devised protocols
• Review and Revise MRI protocols with radiologists when applicable.
• Report Statistics for MRI weekly
• Assist in selection and review of MRI equipment
• Provide excellent patient care & customer service to all patients receiving MRI scans
• Administer IV contrast to MRI patients when requested by requisition/script
• Works both independently as well as with other technologists to ensure high quality scans are consistently produced.
• Maintains flexibility with schedule and provides coverage to other locations when necessary
• Performs Weekly ACR mandated quality control on MRI scanner
• Completes ACR requirements for Re-accreditations to include image acquisition, calculation and quality assurance, reviews with supervising Radiologist.
• Ensure MRI scan room is safely secured from public & non-screened employees.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Maintains ARRT Licensure by adhering and completing both timely renewals and continuing education requirements.
• Research and clear patient implant devices to provide safe scanning and mitigate liability.
• Verifies and reviews scripts, proactively reviews schedule to ensure exams scheduled correctly, interacts with Diagnostic Supervisor & staff accordingly.
• Enter Athena orders from MR referrals, ensure all completed scans are claimed.
• Complete protocol sheets for scheduled scans to be sent to radiologists. Review scheduled scans for prior images & reports.
• Confirm all completed scans sent to archive/PACS and radiologists prior to deletion from modality.
• All other duties as assigned by manager
