Job description

JOB SCOPE: The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for full cycle recruitment and will own the entire process including placing job ads, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews (if applicable for EMT), and streamline the interview and onboarding process. HRG will work closely with hiring managers to attract and recruit the best applicants.ย  HRG will serve as one of the gatekeepers to the Human Resources Department. HRG will assist Human Resource Manager of HR with benefits administration and carrying out processes in accordance with agency, city, state, and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participating in recruitment efforts by placing job ads with advertising agency, screening, and distribution of resumes to management.
  • Use career fairs, job boards, social media, community network events, colleges, etc. to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system.
  • Build and maintain a network of referral sources.
  • Monitoring of the onboarding process and work closely with the Human Resources Recruiter, hiring manager, and candidate to ensure process runs seamlessly and concurrent.
  • Drafting and distribution of employment offer letters to individuals after review and approval from HR Manager and CEO.
  • Managing and updating job descriptions.
  • Processes background clearances through the Justice Center, Staff Exclusion List, State Central Registry, and K- Checks.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in Paycom and HRIS with a focus on service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.
  • Examine trends in information systems training, materials, and techniques. Through reading, attending user group webinars, and consistently speaking with Paycom Specialist, continuously increases both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Answers general inquiries from employees and provides direction and assistance as

needed.

  • Answers incoming departmental calls, determines purpose of call, and forwards calls to
  • appropriate personnel or department.
  • Entering information into Human Resources database (Paycom).
  • Sort and distribute mail.
  • Keep track of employee changes and update their files accordingly.
  • Assist all staff with any Paycom issues (password reset, unlocks).
  • Assist in conducting new hire orientation and completion of paperwork.
  • Assisting of the onboarding process and working closely with the People Operations Manager, hiring manager, and candidate to ensure process runs seamlessly and concurrently.
  • Assist with maintenance and organization of employee personal files. Filing, creating personnel folders, breaking down folders.
  • Maintain constant contact with candidates from beginning of onboarding process through to their first day of employment.
  • Assisting in the audit of Human Resources functions and collection of data.
  • Answers general inquiries from employees and provides direction and assistance as needed.
  • Completes I-9 verification forms and verifications of employment requests.
  • Handles confidential and sensitive information.
  • Assist in updating spreadsheets for applicant tracking on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in benefits administration with Manager of Human Resources which include management of FMLA, PFL, Workers Compensation, Disability, Pension and Retirement plan, open enrollment and other leave.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the BXFN Human Resources Policies and Procedure Manual.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned by the Human Resource Manager of Human Resources and/or Executive Management.
  • Perform other generalist tasks and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience working in a Human Resources Department
  • HRIS systems

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be approachable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • 2-4 yearsโ€™ experience working in a Human Resources department.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is required, Paycom preferred.
