Role Summary
We are seeking a disciplined and highly skilled Line Cook to join our premier culinary team at Shop 543. With a view overlooking old carrier ships on the Delaware River, Shop 543 features eight different lunch stations offering everything from pizza to sushi. Our Jharoka cafe and 543 Market provide coffee drinks and grab-and-go foods.
This position is designed for a career-minded professional who excels in a high-performance, scratch-kitchen environment. We offer a rare opportunity to maintain a sophisticated culinary standard within a Monday through Friday, AM shift schedule, providing an elite work-life balance without compromising on professional rigor.
Role Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the seamless execution of service and the maintenance of our culinary standards:
    • Technical Execution: Prepare a diverse menu of meats, seafood, and seasonal produce to exacting recipe specifications and refined plating standards.
    • Station Management: Demonstrate mastery across multiple stations-specifically Sautรฉ, Grill, and Oven-while providing cross-functional support to Salad, Pastry, and Prep teams as required.
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure absolute consistency in food quality, portion control, and aesthetic presentation during high-volume service.
    • Operational Excellence: Maintain a meticulously organized and sanitized station; adhere strictly to food safety protocols, including comprehensive FIFO rotation and temperature logging.
    • Collaboration: Foster a culture of clear, professional communication with both Front-of-House and Back-of-House staff to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

    • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume, scratch-culinary environment.
