Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Company Overview The Omakase Restaurant Group is the brainchild of co-founder and CEO Kash Feng, a Xi'an born entrepreneur with an inclination for hospitality. Multi-concept in nature, the Omakase Restaurant Group serves the Bay Area and prides itself on offering the highest caliber Asian and American cuisine that remains quintessentially Californian.

Job Summary The server/ floor lead must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress. Japanese cuisine experience is a plus. Previous fine dining/upscale experience is ideal but not required. Cleanliness, organization and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position. Must have lunch and dinner availability.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enter orders into POS systems.
  • Knowledge of the menu, with ability to make suggestions.
  • Knowledge of omakase-style environment, sake and wine.
  • Run food to tables and assist wherever needed.
  • Check back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Collect and process payment in a timely manner.
  • Complete side work and other projects assigned by management.
  • Excellent communication skills with management, chefs, and fellow team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with great enthusiasm and energy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a server in a high-end full-service restaurant.
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine required.
  • Knowledge of sake and wine required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Prerequisites for Employment:

  • Valid California ServSafe Food Handler Certification
  • Valid Responsible Beverage Service Certification

The Server must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
