Cornerstone Assisted Living, a Cassia community, is hiring a Culinary Director to lead our team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences and leading a strong culinary team. At Cornerstone, you’ll work in a welcoming, resident-focused environment where your leadership, creativity, and commitment to quality are truly valued.
As the Culinary Director at Cornerstone, you will oversee the daily operations of the department to ensure high-quality meals and outstanding service for our residents. You’ll collaborate with our dietitian team to develop enticing, nutritious menus, supervise and train culinary staff, manage scheduling and inventory, and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings prior food service leadership experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for serving older adults while building an engaged, high-performing team.
Position Type: Full-Time
Wage Range: $64,000 - $77,000

Culinary Director Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure appropriate nutritional care is provided to all residents.
  • Coordinate with home office dietitians to plan meals at the campus.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Culinary Services department.
  • Guarantee meals, snacks, and supplements are planned, prepared, and served to residents in a pleasant atmosphere.
  • Complete nutritional interviews with residents.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise department staff.
  • Prepare employee schedules, maintain attendance records, and approve payroll.
  • Promote special food events (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.) for residents and guests.
  • Providing leadership to all kitchen and dining team members
  • Perform additional tasks as required. 
Culinary Director Qualifications:
  • 2-3+ years of culinary experience in traditional restaurant/catering experience required.
  • 1+ yrs of supervisory experience, ideally in food service.
  • Ability to motivate and build cohesive teams.
  • Food Safety Manager Certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal food service regulations.
  • Food Safety Manager Certificate preferred.
  • Able to effectively read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Knowledge of specialized diets preferred.
  • Special consideration will be given to those with scratch cooking experience.
