Job description

Position Purpose:
BCI is looking for talented, passionate associates to join our Sales Trainee program. The Sales Trainee will be enrolled in our 12-18 month sales training program to prepare and equip the associate with the knowledge and skills in learning the corrugated packaging industry to become a part of our successful Account Executive team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
โ€ข Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
โ€ข Participate in a 12-18 month sales training program to prepare for a long-term position with BCI as an Account Executive
โ€ข Meet or exceed the operating standards in the areas of sales and customer service. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the Account Executive
โ€ข Achieve in meeting or exceeding the developed professional goals set to and agreed upon between yourself and the Sales Manager
โ€ข Participate in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas
โ€ข Review of the training program goals with the Sales Manager on a weekly basis to ensure the Sales Trainee is acquiring the skills necessary in becoming a successful Account Executive
โ€ข Exhibit professional behavior at all times and treating others with respect
โ€ข Full-time role in an office setting
Desired Skills and Behavioral Strengths:
โ€ข Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
โ€ข Strong communication, interpersonal, listening and verbal and written communication skills
โ€ข Highly motivated and results-orientated individual who can work well both independently and within a team environment
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions and training and procedure manuals
โ€ข Ability to write reports and correspondence
โ€ข Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, percentages and volume
โ€ข Strong attention to detail
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in sales/marketing
โ€ข Two years outside selling or related experience - preferred, but not required
โ€ข Experience in the corrugated box industry - preferred, but not required
โ€ข Valid driver's license, safe driving record and reliable transportation
