We are hiring for multiple Product Developer II, Running Footwear positions!
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As a member of the Nike Product Development team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners - both within Nike and external to Nike. You will report to the Footwear Product Development Director in this category.
You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match Nike Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Footwear Product Developer II to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Creation Team, creating amazing footwear for our athletes! The ideal candidate needs to proven project management experience, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. In addition, we are looking for people that are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players and that exhibit strong leadership skills. As a member of our Nike team, we'll look for you to display an aptitude to gain knowledge of our consumer's footwear needs and to solve problems that are relevant and impactful.
As our Footwear Developer II in Performance Running, you'll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects. Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a design rendering into a sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business. You'll utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence. You'll engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability, and sustainability targets. In addition, you'll ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured. In short, you get to create amazing performance Running footwear product!
  • Bachelor's Degree in Product Development or Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Industrial Design or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • Minimum of 2 years directly applicable work experience
  • High profile communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with leadership and cross functional product creation team members
  • Knowledge of footwear manufacturing technologies and equipment, tooling, and materials is highly preferred
  • Understanding of product and process planning with strong communication skills

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
As our Footwear Product Developer II at Nike, you'll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects and will recommend and specify the material, component and construction to meet key features and performance goals. You will apply your footwear knowledge to drive product creation teams through 3D Prototyping, Bottom Tooling, Upper Patterns, Mold Design, Chemical, Materials, Costing, and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives in an efficient, effective, balanced, and timely way.
  • Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business.
  • You will utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence.
  • You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets.
  • You will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.
