Description:

The Rental Manager is responsible for driving rental sales performance and growth, as well as ensuring a smooth rental operation and industry-leading customer experience. Effective communication, analytical abilities (optimizing rental fleet age and truck mix, etc.), strong management of rental clerical functions (billing, contracts), and process improvement are key skills for the position. The Rental Manager must collaborate with Regional Directors, Rental Ops Coordinators, Operations Managers, the Industrial Power team, the Equipment Manager, and others to be effective and maximize efforts. The Rental Manager reports to the Operations Director.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and drive rental strategies to hit targets and grow rental revenue and profitability.
  • Lead sales efforts for key rental accounts, targeting large fleet opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to find rental opportunity and win new business.
  • Communicate, implement, and execute all rental sales strategies in conjunction with sales team.
  • Manage the rental P&L.
  • Collaborate and manage the Regional Rental Ops Support Coordinators to ensure smooth rental operations, clean administrative processes, timely and professional customer service, etc.
  • Manage rental sales leads and customer service issues to ensure quick response time and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all industrial power processes are followed for proper maintenance of rental batteries and chargers.
  • Complete Customer Business Reviews with top accounts to highlight productivity, utilization, and other rental and fleet analytics.
  • Continuous improvement:
  • Analyze and evaluate the rental fleet, making proactive recommendations regarding inventory levels/pipeline and truck mix, growth opportunities, etc.
  • Identify and implement continual rental process improvement initiatives.
  • Research and implement new technologies and tools that can improve ability to profitably and efficiently manage the rental fleet.
  • Research and implement new technologies and tools that can enable a more user-friendly, satisfying customer experience.
  • Work with the A/R Manager to make sure all past due accounts are handled properly by the sales team.
  • Utilize CRM for reporting, leads, and communication.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on content for the rental department.
  • Ensure rental equipment is properly maintained and condition is accurately documented.
  • Handle other duties and responsibilties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • College degree
  • 5+ years of sales experience
  • 2+ years of program management experience (preferred)

  • Proficient at CRM, Skype/Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; willing and able to learn new technology
