The position manages all employees and activities related to rental shop and field service (pump rental, temporary bypass systems, diesel-driven equipment, dewatering, and equipment rehabilitation) to ensure timely delivery of quality services. The Rental Service Manager combines operational management (fleet readiness, utilization, P&L, scheduling) with hands-on leadership of the rental team and is accountable for the cost, quality, and delivery objectives of the rental operation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operational and financial performance (P&L) of all rental service activities: revenue, margin, labor utilization, and equipment utilization rates

  • Manages organization, safety, and maintenance of the rental shop, yard, and service vehicles; DOT fleet management and DOT compliance (DVIR, HOS, driver qualification)
  • Provides guidance to rental service and repair processes — personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tools and equipment
  • Establishes quality control standards; ensures all established cost, quality, and delivery objectives and commitments are met
  • Takes corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules; reviews repair and operating reports and directs resolution of operational, repair, and maintenance problems
  • Customer coordination on rental deployments: equipment selection, delivery scheduling, and site setup requirements
  • Oversight of emergency and after-hours rental response: on-call crew readiness, rapid deployment for dewatering/bypass emergencies, and 24/7 customer responsiveness
  • Customer satisfaction: monitors customer feedback and satisfaction measures, resolves escalations, and supports the sales team on rental opportunities and customer relationships
  • Collaboration with geographic Senior Service Managers on rental resources and support needs within their territories
